"Compromise agreements are a widely used method of settling employment claims with an exiting employee. Sanctioned by the Employment Rights Act 1996, they are a form of contract that gives the employee a sum of money and other possible benefits, in return for the employee signing away any employment claims, for example, at a tribunal, they may have. "
